Follow these steps to find the best fitting ghillie brogues. Don’t rely on ‘the size I’ve always worn’, as feet change and different manufacturers may size their products slightly differently.
We’re going to draw an outline of your feet, much like the ‘hand turkeys’ we drew in kindergarten.
Step 1 – Tape a piece of paper to a hard floor (not carpeted) so it doesn't slip during the process.
Step 2 – Stand with one foot completely on the paper, with your knees relaxed and unlocked. You can also sit, but make sure your feet are flat to the floor and your ankle is straight and relaxed.
Step 3 – Holding a pen or pencil straight up and down, trace the outline of your foot on the paper. Ideally, have another person do the tracing so you can concentrate on keeping your foot still.
Step 4 – Using a tape measure or ruler, measure from the heel to the longest toe. Measure the width at the widest point of your foot.
Step 5 – Repeat for your other foot and check the larger foot measurements to the chart below.
